The name Kagatha finds its roots in Sanskrit, one of the oldest languages in the world.
It is a blend of two words : Katha, meaning “story,” and Gatha, meaning “a verse of a poem.”
This story began over six years ago, when we were just two college students with creative hearts and quiet dreams of building something beautiful. What started as late-night conversations and shared notebooks eventually led us across continents to London. At first, it was meant to be a study abroad adventure. But life, as it often does, had other plans.
After graduation, and in the stillness that followed, something shifted. We paused, reflected, and asked each other, “What if we actually did it?” What if we built the brand we had always imagined rooted in meaning, craft, and story?
And so, Kagatha began to take shape. A jewellery brand inspired by vintage silhouettes, fuelled by our heritage, and brought to life through slow, intentional design. It’s taken time, patience, and more than a few missteps but we’re here now, and we’re proud of what we’ve made.
This is where it starts. And we’re so glad you’re here

At Kagatha, we don’t believe in rushing beauty. We create in small batches, with each design made in limited numbers and never repeated. Once a piece finds its home, it’s gone no restocks, no overproduction, no waste.
This quiet approach gives us the freedom to explore, to create with intention. It means every piece becomes a rare fragment of your story, something that won’t be seen everywhere, something that feels entirely yours.
And in choosing less, we make space for what matters more.
At Kagatha, every piece begins with intention and ends with care. We craft our jewellery using 100% recycled brass, sterling silver and gold, sourced from certified suppliers who uphold the highest ethical and environmental standards.
Our manufacturing partner is RJC-certified and proudly employs over 54% women, reflecting their commitment to training and empowering female artisans. Our commitment to sustainability is not a trend, but a responsibility to create beautiful things without causing harm.
Every Kagatha piece arrives wrapped in meaning. Our packaging is crafted from traditional Nepali Lokta paper and the soft fabric pouch we call “thaili”. It is handmade using centuries-old techniques by a small, local business in Kathmandu. No bargaining, just fair pay and respect for craft. Every detail, from the paper to the pouch, is thoughtful, functional, and free from plastic and designed to be kept, re-used, and cherished.
